Form: (V)
I/ We/ You/ They + V (nguyên thể)
He/She/It + V_s/ es
Positive form.
Ex:I like sports. 
 He plays football. 
Quy tắc thêm s/es
Thêm es vào những động từ tận cùng là các chữ ch, sh, o, s, x, z:
watch → watches, wash → washes, go → goes, fax → faxes, buzz → buzzes
Thêm s vào những động từ còn lại:
like → likes, swim → swims, run → runs...
Động từ tận cùng bằng chữ y có hai trường hợp:
Nếu trước y là một nguyên âm (u, e, o, a, i) thì ta thêm s bình thường:
play → plays
Nếu trước y là một phụ âm ta đổi y → i rồi thêm es:
try → tries
Các động từ không theo quy tắc:
have → has
Negative form.
I/ We/ You/ They + do not + V (nguyên thể)
He/ She/ It + does not + V (nguyên thể)
don’t = do not 
doesn’t = does not
Ex: We don’t go to school on Sunday. 
 She doesn’t play football.
Question form.
Do + I/we/you/they + V (nguyên thể) ? Does + he/she/it + V (nguyên thể) ?
 Trả lời “Yes”:
 Yes, I/ we/ you/ they +do 
Yes, he/ she/ it + does.
 Trả lời “No”:
 No, I/ we/ you/ they don’t.
 No, he/ she/ it + doesn’t
Ex: Do they play sports?
 Does he like judo?
3.Dấu hiệu nhận biết.
Yes, they do. / No, they don’t.
Yes, he does. / No, he doesn’t.
Trong câu thì hiện tại đơn thường có các từ: always ,usually, often , frequently, sometimes, seldom (ít khi), rarely (hiếm khi), never.
Ex: We usually have breakfast at 6 o’clock.
 every day, every week, every month, every year... 
Ex: I get up early every day. 
-once/ twice / three times/ four times... 
-a day/ week/ month/ year... 
Ex: She goes to her English class twice a week.
-in the morning , in spring .
Ex:It’s warm in spring. 
on Mondays 
Ex:They have Maths on Mondays.
at weekends (vào các ngày cuối tuần) Ex:He practices karate at weekends.
B.Present Continuous Tense.
Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn được dùng để diễn tả một hành động,...tiết cuối:
budget → budgeting, enter → entering, signal → signaling, travel → traveling
Động từ kết thúc bằng ie thì đổi ie thành y rồi thêm ing.
die → dying, lie → lying
I + am not + V_ing
He/ She/ It + is not + V_ing
We/ You/ They + are not + V_ing
b.Negative form.
Ex:I am not studying at the moment. 
It is not raining now. 
They are not singing right now. 
c.Question form.
Am + I + V_ing ?
Is + he/ she/ it + V_ing ?
Are + we/ you/ they + V_ing ?
Trả lời “Yes”:
Yes, I am. Yes, he/ she/ it + is. Yes, we/ you/ they + are.
Trả lời “No”:
No, I am not.
No, he/ she/ it isn’t.
No, we/ you /they + aren’t.
Ex: Am I studying now? - Yes, you are. / No, you aren’t.
 Is it raining now?Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.
 Are they singing now?Yes, they are. / No, they aren’t.
2.Dấu hiệu nhận biết.
Trong câu xuất hiện các từ: now, at the moment, right now (ngay bây giờ), currently (hiện tại), presently (hiện tại), at present (hiện tại), for the time being (lúc này), look!, listen!...
Ex:Look! He is doing his homework.
