II. Grammar 
Transitive and Intransitive Verbs
§	Transitive Verbs (Ngoại động từ / Tha động từ) là động từ theo sau nó phải có tân ngữ.
Ví dụ:	- She is studying the lessons in her room.
	- He repeated his questions.
	- The woman bought a lot of flowers.
	- Raise your hands, please!
§	Intransitive Verbs (Nội động từ / Tự động từ) là động từ không dùng kèm với tân ngữ. Nội động từ không bao giờ được dùng ở dạng bị động.
Ví dụ:	- The sun rises in the East.
	- She walks to work.
	- We are staying at a big hotel.
§	Có một số động từ vừa là nội động từ vừa là ngoại động từ.
Ví dụ:	- Our team won the game.
	- Our team won yesterday.
	- I rang the bell.
	- The bell rang while I was having a bath.
	- Someone opened the door.
	- The door opened.
