What are they talking about? - Play the recording for Ss to read each line in the pictures and check Ss comprehension at times, using English, and Vietnamese when necessary. - Use an atlas or a world map to show where each country or city. - Teaching vocabulary: + lane (explain) + flat (answer) + tower (translate) - Checking vocab: Rub out and remember. - Play the tapes for Sts to listen and repeat. - Divide the class into groups to take turns to say the lines from Zack and Lawan. - Call some pairs to practice in front of class and check Sts’ pronunciation. 2. Point, ask and answer - Point to the picture a,b,c,d and say: These are the children on the street. They are asking their friend’s address. - T gives an example: point to picture a say: It’s 105 Hoa Binh lane/ b.It’s - Ask Sts to repeat the words in each picture then ask Sts to read the example. - Elicit their prompt to complete the text in the speech bubbles. - T gives the example: A: What’s your address? B: It’s 105 Hoa Binh lane. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. Others observe & comment. - Ask Sts to ask and answer with each picture about the country & city where each character comes from. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Let’s talk. - Ask Sts to talk about the pictures and ask their names.Ask them about their names and the places they come from. Guiding questions: Who’s he/ she ? Where’s he/ she from? What’s your address?? Practice: pairsworks. A: Where are you from? B: I’m from ... A: What’s your address? B: It’s . A: Where do you live? A: I live * Consolidation: - Ask stds to repeat all the content of the lesson. * Ho...exercise. - Ask Sts to talk about the pictures. - Ss look at the flags or things to identify the country - Ask Sts to listen to the tape 2 times and tick the pictures they hear. - Ask a few questions to check their comprehension. Look, listen and repeat: - Whole class: have ss turn their books to page 8. Focus their attention on the pictures and ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. Point to each picture and ask: who is this? Tell ss that they are going to listen to the dialogue between Trung and Quan talking about someone’s place. Use a poster and two puppets to present the situation. Play the recording again all the way through fo...th their friends. Have Ps repeat each sentence a few times. Correct the pronunciation. - Get Ps to work in pairs. Have a brief discussion with the class about the pictures and the task. Then read the passage, pausing at times to check ss’ comprehension: Where you live? While - writing: - Have ss read the guide and answer the model questions for their writing individually . - Have ss trade their answers in pairs for correction. - Call on some ss to read their answers aloud to the class, the rest of the class listen and give comments.
